INTERESTED IN COMPETITIVE DANCE NEXT YEAR?
First, be prepared that there are additional costs and time commitment involved when participating in competitive dance.
Dancers are expected to practice at home and know their choreography.
Dancers must be able to focus and work hard in dance class.
If you are intereted in learning more about working on technique in preparation for competition dance, please attend summer technique classes and work with our staff.
Register for the Competition Workshop August 6, 7, 8 - with tryouts August 13 & 14. This is mandatory if you want to be considered for a competition team during the 2019-2020 season.
Every year we wipe the slate clean and recreate our competition teams for the upcoming dance season. We take age, current technical ability, performance quality, movement quality, class size, and more into consideration when creating our teams. We put a great deal of time and effort into the process to create teams that dance well together, and who also push one another and help one another grow throughout the season.
Participation on a competition team is by invitation only. After the try-outs, we will send out invitation letters and contracts to dancers we feel are ready to participate at the competitive level. Families then will have more details on costs, dates, commitment level, and will be able to make a final decision on whether to accept a spot on one of our competition teams for the 2019-2020 dance season.
